This room is referred to as the sunroom. The north wall is mostly
windows offering a view of the estate that overlooks the lake
and creates a beautiful garden setting. The lake, Lake Whitemarsh,

is named for E.W.'s yacht. At one time there were five lakes surrounding
the mansion. Marland, of course, wanted his castle to have a moat. |
| SOUTH SALON |
|
 |
This room was used as the living room. It overlooked one of the
most spectacular vistas on the estate.
The floor of the salons is terrazzo,
a compound of crushed marble and
concrete. Each section was
individually poured between the
brass dividers.

Today, the two salons are the scene of many wedding receptions,
class reunions, and the spectacular Christmas Gala. |
